Garden Roots Weekend: May 24 and 25th ~A very special weekend of gardening. Join us to celebrate New England's unique agricultural heritage and garden roots.
Of course all of our great plants will be for sale, but it's a great weekend for hanging out, connecting with the Stillman's family, talking with other gardeners, and his hopefully learning a little more about the gardening that interests you. Saturday 10 a.m. & Sunday 1 p.m. ~Totally Tomatoes: Glenn will talk about how to select, start and grow tomatoes.
Saturday 11 a.m. & Sunday 2 p.m. ~Container Workshop: bring your own container or containers and pot them up yourself. We'll start the workshop with a few minutes of demonstration to get you started and then will be available for assistance selecting the perfect annuals, perennials and herbs for your pot. We'll provide the soil, and you pay for only the plants you use and leave the mess here!
Saturday 12:30 ~ Creating a Theme Herb Garden: Get inspired and get started with that herb garden by choosing a theme. We'll explore concepts for the small and a large garden as well as how to have useful and effective container herb gardens.
Saturday 2 p.m. ~Container Design with Kate: Everyone raves about kate's creations. Sit back, relax and watch her technique is she assembles a few container gardens and discusses some of the new plant material available.
Saturday 3 p.m. ~ Container Vegetable Garden: Short on space? We've got suggestions about varieties, as well as how to keep your vegetables growing and producing in your pot.
Saturday 3:30 p.m. ~ What's New for 2008: Sometimes it is hard to keep up with all the latest in the plant world. Take a brief walking tour to see what's new and exciting for 2008. We'll also give you some cultural information and a few ideas about how to use these plants.
Sunday 10 a.m. ~ Salads ...Beyond lettuce in the Garden: There are loads of wonderful greens and herbs to grow that can jazz up your salads...and let's throw in a cuke or a pepper while we are at it!
Sunday 11 a.m. ~ Successful Succulents: Sedum, Echivera, and many other plants with interesting leaf color and texture, make for fascinating (and low maintenance) pots and hangers. See how to choose the right plants and assemble your own.

Sunday 3 p.m. ~ Must Have Herbs: If you could only invite 5 herbs to dinner, which ones would it be? We get the "what herbs do I have to have?" question all the time and we always have a few suggestions. Also, what are the best herbs for teas?
Some of our Heritage Breed animals will be on site all weekend.
